The ECA is starting a new chapter and with that brings a new symbol for our organization. Just like a river, our logo and organizational voice has changed with the flow time. The new logo, or symbol, pulls inspiration from a few special sources.
First, the Marker Tree. North American Indigenous culturally modified trees that can be found throughout South Georgian Bay, the traditional territory of many Nations. Marker, Trail or Signal Trees are traditionally used to guide people to water, villages, food sources, and gathering places. Cultural markers pointing a positive way forward. The ECA seeks to play this role in our regional community. A signal towards a future where people and nature are in a place of harmony.

The spine of our new symbol echoes the contours of the escarpment itself—its brow, its rivers, its watersheds—lifelines that serve not only the land, but the people and species that call it home. An alliance of people and nature working in balance.
It stands for hope, for connection—and for urgency. A reminder that now is the time to come together to protect our escarpment, for good.
