The Council of the Municipality of Grey-Highlands plans to consider the Water and Wastewater Master Servicing Plan final report tomorrow, October 1st during their monthly meeting.
They recommend a study on extending sewers into Kimberley and expanding the system to accommodate the potential BVDG development at Talisman, with estimated costs starting at $100,000.
This raises several questions – and the community is encouraged to attend in person tomorrow to learn more and perhaps raise some important questions in regards to the proposal including some of the following:
- Who will pay for the study?
- Why is the second development application on the Talisman Lands not acknowledged or included in infrastructure planning?
- The report says wastewater expansion must be considered because the Provincial Policy statement requires growth where there is infrastructure. But there is insufficient waste water capacity to accommodate the growth proposed at this location.
- Is there public support for this in Kimberley?
- Kimberley is not identified as an area for growth in the GH Official Plan so is an infrastructure expansion study required?
