A Letter from President and Co-Founder

January 28, 2025
Hello friends and supporters of the ECA,
I am so excited by how far we have come from the original goal of preserving Castle Glen back in the early 2000’s. In three short years the ECA’s work and mission have resonated with thousands to the point where, today, we are on our way to permanently connecting and protecting lands that stretch across the escarpment of South Georgian Bay from Creemore through the Blue Mountains and Beaver Valley to Meaford.
2024 was quite the year. We united our region behind the ECA’s vision. Together, we took critical steps: hosting our first-ever, SOLD OUT, Nature Corridor Summit, bringing hundreds more to our educational dinner series, town halls, fundraising concerts and other community events. We initiated vital research to identify the region’s most biodiverse and vulnerable lands, formed dedicated committees to tackle key hotspots, established strong political relationships, and were featured on both major media such as CBC, Rogers Television and City TV as well as numerous regional magazines and news sources for our work. Our conservation economy report laid the groundwork for keeping South Georgian Bay ecologically vibrant and economically resilient.
But this is only the beginning.
In 2025, we’re aiming even higher as we expand our mandate and become a certified land trust. In addition, we’ll expand our educational efforts, host the second Nature Corridor Summit, deepen our partnerships with environmental groups, influencers, and political leaders, and continue advancing our strategic, research-driven plan to bring the corridor to life.
This is where you come in. Your donations, your time, and your voice are the driving force behind our mission. Please act now and help in any way you can. We will collectively reap the rewards of these investments as we conserve a critical legacy for generations to come. Let’s Make 2025 the Year We Secure the Future of South Georgian Bay’s Escarpment.
