Use your voice – comment for protected area expansions
We, as a community, have a tremendous opportunity to see provincial protected areas massively expanded. Possibly the biggest expansion of protected areas in Grey County in 50 years.
The province is considering a second batch of lands already owned by the province (not private or municipal lands) for additional Expanded Protected Areas. This includes a potential 3,308 hectares (8,174 acres) of provincial lands in South Georgian Bay across 7 existing Provincial Parks and other types of protected areas.

Cut and Paste Comments you can use
- I’m supportive of the initiative to create and expand protected areas in Ontario
- I am a recreational hiker/birder/skier/etc. and I like this specific proposal because it protects the lands I love to visit (can name a specific location, Kolapore, Beaver Valley, etc.)
- I would love to see more conservation happen in this area and in Ontario broadly.
