Love Poetry?
We are happy to help promote local poet, Jillian Morris. Discover born, genes and quash, the first book of poetry by Collingwood’s former Poet Laureate, Jillian Morris. A collection of poems encapsulating Jillian’s life experiences, culture and teachings, spirituality, and an enduring love of words.
From the author:
The arts can be an effective means to tackling tough topics. The state of the natural world is among those and that has a lot to do with our increasing separation from it. I write for connection – people to people, culture to culture, self to nature. I write to remind myself and us of our inherent role as promoters and guardians of good relations to each other and all life. There is so much to learn about ourselves from the relationships, the patterns, and the cycles of the natural world but many of us have forgotten how to listen to the stories of Mother Earth. We all belong, all contributions matter, and so I encourage us to return to the land as students so we can (again) lead with wholesome intentions.
