It starts with a seed… then grows into something more — a plant, a tree, or something even greater…
In October, a small group of locals invited ECA Executive Director Jarvis Strong and Co-founder/President Bruce Harbinson to learn more about tour proposed Nature Corridor in South Georgian Bay.

Area of Influence
for a nature corridor in
South Georgian Bay
The Escarpment Corridor Alliance has been hard at work blending science + nature to map the Core Area of Influence — the foundation for a connected, protected corridor across our region. Now we need you to help us propel our conservation efforts forward in the region.
As an example, a local family welcomed us into their home and helped spark some important conversations around land trusts and the opportunities that exist to preserve land in South Georgian Bay.

A Community approach to land conservation
Have you ever wondered how you can further contribute to local conservation without having the formal knowledge?
If this is you, then the Escarpment Corridor Alliance would like to be your expert. One method that really works is by gathering some of your like minded friends in the comfort of your own environment, like the local family did above. Let us come to you! This is what we like to call a Conservation Circle.
What does that look like?
- Invite your friends to gather either indoors or outdoors at your home or community centre
- One of our ECA team members or board members will join you
- The ECA will present and provide answers to your important questions
The entire presentation will only last 45 mins, but the conversation will go on for hours!
Our vision is ambitious, but we are already making headway, and we need people like you to help us further our mission to protect and connect a nature corridor in South Georgian Bay.
If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out!
