On Monday, April 13, the Town of The Blue Mountains unanimously endorsed the Escarpment Corridor Alliance as a collaborative conservation partner, recognizing the importance of ecological connectivity and long-term protection of the region’s ecosystem function. This signals strong municipal support for advancing a landscape-scale ecological corridor and aligns with the Town’s priorities around resilient growth, evidence-based planning, partnerships, and environmental sustainability.
The endorsement follows a deputation to the Committee of the Whole, where the ECA highlighted growing regional momentum and the need to integrate ecological connectivity and restoring biodiversity into planning decisions. This marks an important step forward for collaborative conservation. Thank you to the Town of The Blue Mountains for its leadership in protecting natural systems for future generations!
